May Happenings in Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. McElroy and Mrs. Griffith’s classroom

I can’t believe this is the last month of our school year.  We have many fun things planned for the month of May! 

We’ll start our month honoring our Mom’s. Your children have been working very hard on a few Mother’s Day surprises and are very excited to share this with you at our Mother’s Day Tea. Our Classroom Tea takes place on Thursday May 6th at 2:00.

The second week we will be talking about the ocean and marine animals.  We are very fortunate to have a guest speaker from NOAA coming to talk to us.  We will also go to the beach and maybe do a little surfing and then relax a little and go on vacation.

The third week we will get to ride in a real school bus and learn about bus safety.  We will finish up our presents for our Dad’s that we have been working on all year.  We will go camping in the classroom.  On Thursday please bring in a game you like to play to share.  We will play as many of the games as we can during center time.

Our last week of school we will learn about how a Kindergarten classroom is set up and we’ll practice sitting at our “desks” and doing “schoolwork”!  Our Year End Celebration will be on Tuesday May 25th at 2:30 in our classroom. We will celebrate by making ice cream sundaes with fun toppings. Please look for the signup sheet for this party outside our classroom.

Thank you so much for sharing your children with me this year.  It has been a joy watching them grow and learn throughout the year.  Have a wonderful, relaxing summer.

Important Dates:

Monday, May 3rd – Bring in any object for abc review day in a bag with 3 clues, one clue needs to be the letter that it starts with.
Thursday, May 6th – Mother’s Day Tea at 2:00
Thursday, May 13th – Bring in a picture of someplace you have been on vacation for sharing.
Thursday, May 20th – Bring in a game to share. 
Tuesday, May 25th – Last day of School.  Party at 2:30
